Palau // Jelly Fish Lake

Jellyfish Lake (Palauan: Ongeim'l Tketau, "Fifth Lake") is a marine lake located on Eil Malk island in  Palau—part of the Rock Islands, a group of small, rocky, mostly uninhabited islands in Palau's Southern Lagoon, between Koror and Peleliu. Millions of golden jellyfish migrate horizontally across the lake daily.
Jellyfish Lake is connected to the ocean through fissures and tunnels in the limestone of an ancient reef. The jellyfish living in the lake have stinging cells but they are not in general powerful enough to cause harm to people. It is possible to notice the stings on sensitive areas like the area around the mouth.

Aaron and I visited this lake back in 2009. It is such a wonder that we decided to go again!
