Water

One hundred steps down to the Grotto—a swimming/diving hole with an outlet to the open water. On the day we were there, the water was far to rough to swim or dive.

Had we been able to swim, the small photos above right would have been what we saw.

We'll just have to go back to Saipan!

From the Grotto we drove to Lau Lau Beach, another popular dive spot, where we saw a barracuda dash thru a bait ball (right bottom). Missed the barracuda.  They are fast!

Lau Lau Beach

Another day. Another dive.

This is Wing Beach. Great for snorkeling (lots of little colorful fish), swimming and lounging in the sand!  I stayed on the sand for this dive and I'm glad I did since the boys struggled to get back in—coming in on the waves over the reef.  One of the friends with us sat up in the shade among the palms and wove little birds and fish from palm leaves.  Such skill and patience!
