We interrupt this broadcast...or rather these postings...to let you know we've settled in a little more to island life.
Around here, most places have typhoon shutters. Ours are accordion-style and lock in the middle. Many people keep their typhoon shutters closed year-round to block out the light and/or the heat. When I arrived in Guam and noticed this practice, I said
"I would never do that. I like my home light and bright."
Today I closed the shutters on one of the windows in our bedroom completely. I also closed the shutters partially in the office and the guest room. I'm hoping it will keep out some of the afternoon heat.
Never say,
"Never!".
Isn't that the truth, never say never. But, you gotta do what you gotta do to stay cool!!!:>)
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to keep from freezing and you are complaining about afternoon heat!
ReplyDeleteI'll know you've settled into island life when we start seeing you in the pics dressed in a moo moo.
