Jill Twining and I dropped Aaron and Herb off at David's house for his bible study on Saturday. Then we went to work door-to-door in a neighborhood off the main road, Marine Corp. Drive. It is a six lane road with a turn lane in the middle. I know what you're thinking, "That's a highway!". Let me assure you, it is only a road. The house behind me is tucked in behind businesses, a not-so-nice apartment building and a warehouse. The point of the photo? The lovely flowering bush, of course!
After we picked up the boys, we drove out to Asan which is South of Tamuning (the area Jill and I were in). Asan is on the side of a hill overlooking Asan Bay. More trees and a beautiful view. That's where we saw the one way sign. I had to put it in again because my husband looks so cute!

This little shack (above) houses a pet deer. The owner saved Bambi (below) from a pack of dogs and now keeps him staked across the street from his home.
Parked out front is a Porsche Boxster. Talk about a contrast!
Why did the chicken walk halfway across the road? Give up?!
He got hit by a car.
Not funny but true! Shortly after taking the photos above, Aaron ran over a chicken. The chicken was walking across the road. Aaron was driving along at about 10 miles/hr through a subdivision. It is not unusual to see chickens in the road. He thought that it would run off like they usually do but it didn't. We heard a thump and realized that we had hit the chicken. Honestly, we were shocked. Pretty sure the chicken was a few feather short of a pillow!
This is a bible student, Eleanor. She is originally from the island of Palau but has lived in Guam for over 30 years. She lives down the road and around the corner from our apartment. We study outside in her outdoor kitchen. In this photo, we had just concluded our bible study and were waiting for the rain to stop. The wind was blowing and the rain was coming down in buckets. Usually I walk home but on this occasion, I called Aaron to come pick me up.

For all you Bible-buffs: Can you tell me what is wrong with this picture?
Clue: Something is missing.
Love the beautiful bush and girl standing beside it. Nice picture also of Aaron and the funny sign. That is a funny contrast with the Boxster, nice looking car.:)
ReplyDeleteAs for the Bible question: You must not make for yourself a carved image...
Interesting, that was left out.
