At 4 o'clock on Saturday, Aaron and I hiked out to our beloved Shark's Cove. A group of friends had already been out there for a couple hours. I had to study and we wanted to experience the cove after dark so the timing worked out well. It was still light when we got there so we got to watch the sun go down. We also did a bit of snorkeling and saw a rather large sting ray. It was so graceful!
As the sun went down, Aaron and I went out for a little night snorkeling.
We got some decent photos of this lion fish.
Then we sat around a fire (the first fire we've seen since we got here) and waited for the spear fisherman to return with their catch. They caught quite a few and we cooked them over the fire. The freshest catch we've ever eaten. It was so much fun! As we waited for them to come in, it poured rain on us! Then it stopped, then it rained some more, then it stopped...you get the idea! By the time 10 o'clock rolled around it was pouring but time for Aaron and I to pack it in. It poured as we hiked the half hour back to the car. Funny thing is...I almost forgot about the rain in the re-telling of the story. It was such a nice evening!
How very fun that sounded.:)
