Step Over into Micronesia and Help Us!

Spiritual Refreshment

That is the title of an article found in the March 2010 Our Kingdom Ministry for Guam (newsletter) being considered throughout Micronesia this week at the meetings. We'd like to share some of the comments made by the friends in our congregation. The article discussed the sacrifices made by those who have moved to Micronesia, what motivated us to come, how the congregation can help us and how we can help the congregation. Under the subheading Why Do They Do It? the article quoted one couple "because of our desire to expand our ministry...to help our children see that Jehovah's organization is global, a true worldwide brotherhood." How We Can Help highlighted our sacrifice (ie leaving friends and family behind, traveling a great distance, etc) and how the friends can make us feel at home. It gave us a chance to express our gratitude to the congregation for their hospitality, warmth and kindness. Of particular note was the last question in the article, How do you feel about those who have 'stepped over to Micronesia' to help? The response was very touching: "I love them!" "I have a feeling...we took some of the pillars out of the congregations back in the states." One young man quoted John 13:35, "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves." He said that those who came to Micronesia showed this kind love and should receive it in return. This scripture was not sited in the article and so his comment came directly from his heart. The brother who conducted the Q & A discussion closed by expressing gratitude for the sacrifice that our families and friends have made by letting us come. So, THANK YOU from the congregations of Micronesia!

  3. What a wonderful forumfor "locals" to express their appreciation for the efforts of those who, like you, made extreme adjustments to help out. His "feeling" was right...they took some of the pillars... We all appreciate your efforts too--especially letting all of us share your experience.
