Tea Party

Fun with Friends

In true English/American/Guamanian style we had a lovely tea party. We enjoyed delicious bush tea, of course, and lovely desserts. After which we watched a movie based on a series of books, No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. It's about a woman in Botswana who opens up a detective agency. It's as much about the characters as it is about the mysteries she solves. It was very cute.

Left to right: Joanne Arii, Julie Burnett, Phyllis Flowers, Debbie Gump, Vanessa Bautista and Darlene Perez. Darlene is Joanne's daughter. They've lived on Guam most (if not all) of Darlene's life. They both are animal lovers and have a knack for gardening. When I want to know about a plant on Guam, I always ask Joanne. Debbie's mom is from Paulau but Debbie and her 2 sisters grew up on Guam. There mother instilled in them a love of reading. Vanessa is of Chomorro decent and has lived here all her life. She has a beautiful singing voice and a ready smile.
