There is only one congregation in Palau. The Kingdom Hall is located right downtown. It includes the main hall, a secondary hall in what used to be a garage, and an apartment and translation offices on the second floor. The public talk was appropriately about Comfort (for the depressed and those who've lost loved ones in death) since one of the local sisters passed away in the early hours Sunday morning. The congregation was grieving. The talk was given in English and translated by a young Palauan sister. For the Watchtower Study we joined the Philippino group in the garage. The Palauan friends remained in the main hall for their Watchtower Study. It was fun to be the minority for a change. The singing in both halls was so loud I couldn't even hear myself (maybe a good thing). Despite their grief, the friends were warm and welcoming. Everyone said that we have to go back since we were not there long enough.

They all look warm and friendly. Isn't it nice to be in Jehovah's Organization.
ReplyDeleteI never saw the KH finished when I was there. Are Haryy and Rene still there? I saw that Roger is now at the branch in Guam. Is Janet still there? It looks as is you got to meet the Persinger, they are a nice couple. I worked with Jim in Palau.
