Busy Schedule

Hafa Adai from Guam

This Saturday, Aaron takes a two hour exam for his Professional Engineer license here in Guam.  He and his workmate, Tressie have been studying for a couple weeks now.  It will all be over Saturday morning.

After the exam, the congregations (JW) on Guam have a clean-up day at the University of Guam (UOG).  Sunday is our Special Assembly Day (SAD) in the Field House on UOG campus.  Aaron is being interviewed at the SAD about how we came to Guam and what we're doing now.

Thursday (10/29) of next week Brian and Serena Harpster, missionaries serving in Chuuk, will arrive.  We pick them up at the airport at 5:20 p.m.  They will be with us thru the zone visit (Zone Overseer comes to see how things are running at the Branch).  During the zone visit we also have a special meeting with all the congregations.  We take the Harpsters back to the airport the following Monday (11/2).  We're looking forward to getting to know them and hear about some of their experiences.  They are originally from Boston.  We understand, from others, that the islands of Chuuk are some of the more difficult islands to serve on.  The Chuukese culture can be very violent.  There is a lot of domestic violence and alchoholism.

The following week (11/10) is our congregation's Circuit Overseer (CO) visit, a special week of activity and encouragement.  I'm looking forward to meeting the CO and his wife (Aaron met him already at his rehearsal for the SAD).

That's it for the next three weeks!  Just kidding!  We'll blog again.
