Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a centerpiece of South Korea’s fashion hub and popular tourist destination, featuring a walkable park on its roofs, large global exhibition spaces, futuristic retail stores, and restored parts of the Seoul fortress.

We met some brothers and sisters near the Huenginjimun Gate. There was a special witnessing campaign in Seoul—brothers and sisters from all over South Korea were invited to participate.

The campaign coincided with Children’s Day—a national holiday dedicated to recognizing and celebrating children as important members of society. People are drawn to Seoul from outlying towns and cities to enjoy festivities and participate in special events. 

We climbed up on top of part of the Seoul City Wall.

At the bottom of Aaron’s pint glass it said “One more drink?"

No surprise, I got a cold. We enjoyed a slow morning with Mr. Darcy.

Later that day, we went for a walk along the Han River.

Crossing over the pedestrian bridge to Seonyudo

Seonyudo was used as a water filtration plant to supply tap water to the southwestern part of Seoul. In December 2000, Seonyudo water filtration plant was closed and then a park was set up. On April 26, 2002, it opened as a public park, Seonyudo Park.

On the island, there is an exhibition hall which displays photos and videos showing history and the four seasons of the Han River. The former Seonyudo water filtration plant has been repurposed to purify water using aquatic plants, providing clean water to various facilities throughout the park.

We met up with Dae Hoon (English name: Neal) and his wife Hyejin for dinner.

We met Neal when he picked us up at the airport in Incheon Novemer/December 2016. 

Dae Hoon and Hyejin were married in January 2025

It was nice to meet Hyejin.

She was delightful and a good match for our dear friend.
