Allow me please to transport you to our own little private island of Fonomu. The island is leased by
Blue Lagoon Resort. For a reasonable "per night/per person" fee we were able to call it home.
We left from the dive shop early in the afternoon.
A view of the island from the water—not much for size.
A small lagoon makes a safe haven for boats.
The dining room.
The kitchen and our water-source for bathing.
Another shack to the right was provided for bathing purposes.
The staff's supply of dried fish. A team of two stays on-sland. They rotate every two weeks,
providing security for the island. Otherwise fishermen would carry off whatever they could grab.
Never-ending beautiful views!
Our little house—four very basic bedrooms. Each couple occupied a room. Most of our
time was spent in the dining room or on our little deck. The staff cooked us dinner and
breakfast—more bacon than I have ever seen in a single serving.
The island had a generator so we had lights and fans well into the night.
It was very much like glamping.
The island is Fonomu, as is the dog. He was quite attentive.
He sat with us for family photos.
He also laughed with us as we enjoyed our coffee.
Part of the fun of Fonomu was that the boys could dive as much as they wanted.
They dove three dives, one a night dive.
The night sky was gorgeous. The moon was full and the sky was speckled with stars.
We caught the sunrise the next morning. Aside from the waves and the breeze, not a sound could be heard.
After our pound of bacon (each) we packed up and headed off for a little wreck diving.

What a beautiful little island and loved your glamping. What an extra fun adventure you got to do. Loved the photos, thank you for sharing the island of Fonomu with us all.
