Two boats, both fishing vessels, left Agana boat basin on a beautiful Saturday morning in June.
Jeff captained the larger boat, Elegant Ella. On board were his wife Lianne, son Brandon
and daughter Ella, as well as friends Jacob, Tina and Kiana.
The smaller of the two vessels, Blue Skies, was captained by Nathan, co-captained by
Rachel and fitted out with rods for fishing. Aaron, Jacob and I were also on board.
Things got exciting right away! We dropped fishing lines in the water.
Jacob drove—his job was to keep us on course while Nathan and Rachel took care of the lines.
The water was bubbling with activity, the birds were circling…it wasn't long before we had a bite!
Nathan pulled in two Bonita (a.k.a. skipjack tuna) before we had to call it a day.
The motor started acting up on the boat. We headed for Double Reef with the hopes that
Jeff could fix the motor and the assurance that he could tow us back otherwise.

Along the way, a pod of dolphins joined our caravan—jumping and spinning around the boat.
Double Reef is apparently a resting place for dolphins.
It is most certainly a most beautiful resting place for humans.

Motor fixed, we raced back to the boat basin through Tumon Bay.
We hope to go again. Next time we'd like to stay until just before dark.

Oh my that looked liked a blast!
