Sea Kayaking

Thailand

Sea kayaking with John Gray's Sea Canoe was the highlight of our entire trip. Our crew captain met us at the dock. We boarded a bus and were escorted to the end of the pier where our boat awaited. As we traveled to our destination we enjoyed a delicious Thai lunch and met our guides.

It was a couple hours before we came upon the rock islands.

We could see them in the distance but as we drew ever
closer their beauty became ever more apparent.

The crew fed the sea birds. The acrobatics was quite a show.

Thailand has monitor lizards too.

Richard and Rhonda had the privilege of being guided by the crew captain. Is that Morgan Freeman? No, he's Thai!  Sure looks like him though.

We kayaked around the islands...

...and into sea caves.  Most of the sea caves were passages to a lagoon in the center of the
island where we saw birds, mangroves and 500 foot cliffs lush with trees and vegetation.

Some of the caves had stalactites and stalagmites.

A little sea caving and hong exploring!
What is a hong, you ask?  It is the lagoon inside the island.

This cave had bats.  They smell was horrid!

After a delicious sunset dinner we headed back to the dock, our path lit by the stars.
