Our last week in Oregon was spent with our dear friends, Ed and Cindy. On our way to Stevenson, Washington we stopped for a late lunch in Wilsonville. Aaron’s mom joined us at McMenamins Old Church and Pub for a Captain Neon (extra messy) with seasoned tots.

Ed found this great little rental in the tiny town of Stevenson just across the Columbia River from Cascade Locks.

Exploring the beautiful waterfront
I told Ed, “Point like your showing us something interesting!"
Sidenote: Stevenson is named for early settler George H. Stevenson. The Stevenson family, who settled in the Gorge in the 1800s from Missouri, founded the town of Stevenson—they purchased the original townsite for $24,000 in 1893, building the town along the lower flat near the river.

Stevenson Landing is a 200 foot long, 15-foot wide concrete pier primarily used for cruise ship dockings. We hiked to the top of Beacon Rock.
We zigzagged all the way up.
Made it to the top
Cindy waited for us at the bottom. She had a hurt foot.
