“bắt đầu từ đầu”

The first time we came to Hội An we were only able to stay for three hours. With so much to experience, we knew we had to return to take it all in.

Our Airbnb, Hội An Emotion Boutique Villa was very quaint.

It included a coffee shop, restaurant and poolside bar. 
It was a true Bed and Breakfast—
breakfast was served each morning in the restaurant.

Most of our first day was spent traveling, so once we arrived, 
we took a bit of time to get settled before heading out for dinner.

We found a lovely restaurant along the Thu Bồn River.


We walked along the street for a bit before returning to our villa.

Aaron and I love to establish connections with the locals so we often frequent 
the same places again and again, especially when the experience is good. 
We enjoyed our coffee every morning at Eco Life Coffee.

We visited an exhibit by the French photographer Réhahn, 
who’s traveled from village to village across Vietnam, 
capturing the people, their cultures, and traditions.
His work was incredible!

Shopping and exploring


We ended up frequenting several restaurants that, come to find out, are owned by the same woman. Each was unique—the food was fresh, the buildings often historic, and the atmosphere quaint.

We were to tired and hot too walk all the way into town (about a mile) 
so we tried the restaurant across the street. It was delicious.

Later in the afternoon we walked into the heart of town to the teahouse at Reaching Out Arts & Crafts, described on their website as a “tranquil oasis in the center of bustling Hội An” where the “grace and charm of our speech and hearing impaired staff will warm your heart as you savor the silence of this experience”.

They request that you refrain from engaging with vendors so the silence isn’t disturbed.
