A normal photo with these three? Not likely.
Allenby House, 298 Jalan Besar
(top right and bottom left)
Jalan Besar is an old district in Singapore. More than two-thirds of shophouses in Jalan Besar were built between 1900 and 1939, a period of transition from Traditional to Art Deco styles. Half of the shophouses were built in the 1920s—a period of unprecedented economic growth brought on by the tin and rubber trades.

Designed by architects Westerhout and Osman for owner Chittiar in 1928, the Allenby House is not the first lodging house but is a landmark of Jalan Besar.

Petain Road Shophouses

Built in the early 1930s, they are a classic example of Chinese Baroque-style shophouses, designed with symmetrical lines, delicate ornaments and ceramic tiles on both the floors and walls.
