THEN this Happened

April 2022

Many of you know that Aaron has ulcerative colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. He is able to manage his symptoms with medication but on occasion it flares up (generally once a year). It was during such a flare-up that he got an internal infection. His immune system was already in distress so the infection got the better of him. After two days of IV antibiotics at the clinic, we went to the emergency room. We waited two hours in the ambulance bay before they took him in. They dismissed me at that point and Aaron was admitted a couple hours later to the hospital. This all happened mid-April.
Because of COVID-19, I could only visit in-person once a day for a maximum of 2 hours.
What we do without FaceTime, WhatApp and Zoom?!
We made the best of our time together.

Meanwhile
We missed an event, we were meant to attend
Elijah + Lyndzie's Wedding
(our girl)
Her parents and our dear friends
Aaron and his buddy Francis
(yup, he named the IV apparatus)

Meanwhile
Our friends took a trip to the Oregon Coast, we were meant to be on…
…and Ed ate my Fritos!

Aaron stayed in the hospital 10 days hooked up to IV antibiotics
During the whole ordeal, we received an outpour of loving care from our worldwide brotherhood, our local congregation, our close friends and our dear family—through YOU we felt the love of our Heavenly Father, "the God of all comfort".—2 Corinthians 1:3, 4
Aaron's day of escape
We were both so happy he was coming home
He had an exhausting 5 more days of outpatient IV antibiotics—
a 3-hour dose at 9 am and a 3-hour dose at 9 pm each day
He has since FULLY RECOVERED
We're doing our best (as usual) to eat healthy,
limit our stress and exercise regularly.

  1. I remember you mentioned a hospitalization but I had no idea it was so serious. Soo glad you recovered but sad that you missed those events. It certainly is a blessing from Jehovah to have such wonderful friends to encourage us when we’re down.
