We thoroughly enjoyed meandering through several parks under the shade of old trees.
Jackson Square at night.
One of Jehovah's Witnesses (our brother) with carts of literature

From inside The Cabildo museum, looking out at the square.
We wondered through the elaborate stone crypts, ornate tombstones and
mausoleums at just one of many cemeteries in New Orlean.
We learned from a local historian…
Each of the original New Orleans cemeteries are surrounded by a perimeter of wall and oven vaults (left). These walls of tombs were meant to be used to house the dead of an entire family line. Well after the funeral, the remains would turn to ash—due to the high temperature inside the tomb—and could be pushed to a back receptacle, to make room for the next deceased.
