There are many caves on Guam—many we have yet to explore. These three cave locations we know well.
Pagat Cave
Pagat is the sight of our most exciting cave. After descending into the cave, you immediately step into a pool of fresh clear water. There are stalactites hanging from the ceiling. Moving from the first chamber you enter into a narrow tunnel interrupted by a large rock. To the right of the rock you squeeze through an even narrower channel and the ceiling comes down a bit to meet you. It's only a short distance before you reach the main chamber. The room opens up, the ceiling is high above the water's surface and the bottom drops down. When flashlights are extinguished, not a ray of light can be seen. It is completely void of light.
Before entering the cave we took a detour to the water's edge.

Just coming out of the cave, ready for our steep hike out.
Marbo Cave
Marbo is an open cave fed by plenty of light from the outside. It is divided into two chambers. There are two ways to reach the back chamber—either through a narrow channel under water or over the top of a large bolder. The water here is also fresh and clear. Aaron and Lyndzie were joined by Brandon, Jessi and Carly (Jessi's roommate).
Talofofo Caves
Talofofo is a series of caves on the side of the cliffs of the main village of Talofofo. They are famous for artifacts and pictographs of the ancient Chamorros.
Talofofo may be derived from the phrase ”entalo’ i fe’fo’,” which means between the cliffs. It’s also possible that the name is derived from another word, fo’fo’, which means a bubbling spring. As the Talofofo River and the Talofofo Falls are located in the village, the name could mean “between the bubbling springs.” (source: Guampedia)
Aaron and Lyndzie were joined by Curtis, Kathleen, Vanessa and Jessi.
After a steep hike up to the site...
...the exploration begins.
After crawling through on one's belly (I think they found a snake curled up near this hole)...
...cavers are rewarded with a 180 view.
It's a dirty business but someone's got to do it!
"This leaf is huge!"
Only the strong prevail.
The rewards of conquest.
