Typhoon Season

{ July 2014 }

This year we've seen a bit of activity during "typhoon season". Twice in July we were at Condition of Readiness 1 (COR 1). Businesses closed, families were expected to be home and roads were closed to all traffic but emergency vehicles. The storms brought big waves, high winds, heavy rain and flooding but passed without incident. After moving on, they developed into typhoons but died out before hitting land again.

Since then, we've had lots of rain and a storm watch or two but nothing major.
