Turtles

We put our Kayaks in at Bear Rock (background) and paddled about two and a half miles north to a small beach.  Conveniently, this boat ramp is just across the street from Jason and Julie's place.

The swells were four to six feet.  As one or the other (or both) descended into a wave trough we at times lost sight of one another, only for a moment though!

Along the way Curtis, Kathleen and I were happy to see two turtles. Aaron missed them because he was too busy checking out the waves that crashed along the reef.

With a little effort, we landed on the beach.  We enjoyed our lunch in the comfort of one of two fishing shacks.  We then explored the beach and swam in the shallows.

With a two and a half mile return, we headed back out to sea!

An exhausting paddle enjoying the beauty of creation and a delicious meal with good friends! There's almost nothing we'd rather do!

  1. Looks like you had a SWELL time! Hee, hee. Love all the pics but especially the one of you two with the wave in front of you and also the one of the beautiful sunset. Good scenery, good food, good friends. Nothing better! (any pics of the turtles?)

    1. Sorry! No turtle pics. Believe it or not! They are to fast. When you try to get close to them they dive...and they're gone.
