David

I thought I would update everyone on David—our friend and bible student. You may remember David from such posts as: David Tours Guam Bethel and Ague Cove

David has been studying the Bible with Aaron for over a year now. He's been joining us at the Kingdom Hall every Sunday since we first invited him. He also participates by commenting during the Congregation Bible Study and the Watchtower. Recently he has adjusted his schedule so that he can attend meetings on Wednesday nights too. He works nights stocking at Galleria DFS (Duty Free Shop) and security at Sheraton Hotel so attending meetings is not easy. Finding time to sleep can be tricky.

After studying for a few months, David asked if he could study more than one hour a week. We suggested Thursday night since that is really the only time available for us—which worked out perfectly since it was his night off. So now David comes over every Thursday night for dinner and family worship. Right now we are discussing bible accounts using My Book of Bible Stories. It's a great way to read the bible in chronological order. It's also nice to have an addition to our family.

David has widened out in his association within the congregation. The other night after meeting we went out to Ruby Tuesdays for drinks and appetizers. We saved him a seat next to us. He came in and took the seat at the other end of the table and said "I always see them!" (meaning Aaron and I). It was funny! We're happy to see that he is getting to know others too!

From the beginning, David has been excited to learn about Jehovah God and what the Bible teaches about him. We are overjoyed to see him developing a close relationship with his Creator. His comments at the meetings are often from the heart and he is eager to share what he is learning with others. He has recently asked about qualifying to go out in the ministry. He says that he "really wants to teach".

Of all the blessings we've enjoyed here on Guam—David is the best!

  2. Thanks for the update. He sounds like a real joy. There are so many great things about living in Micronesia but the ones who are studying and making progress still top the cake for us too. Great beauty shot by the way!
