We often see funny hand-painted signs. This one is along the main highway that runs north/south. We think they are selling 'juice packs'. Painted on the side of the beachfront house/business they also advertise copy, fax, notary and funeral plots.

This is a hoya. My grandmother always had one growing in the corner of her living room. My mom had (has) one. Aaron's grandmother gave Aaron and I a start when we lived in Salem. It was huge when we left it. This one is growing on a cyclone fence adjacent to a 76 gas station. I'm tempted to ask the residents of the property for a clipping. Until now I had no idea there were so many different kinds of hoya (thank you Wikipedia!). I certainly didn't realize they would grow on a fence behind a gas station!
That bloom looks just like Mom's, (your grandma). I have a piece of it but, as of yet it has not bloomed!
ReplyDeleteCool plant and blooms. I don't remember it in Salem, where did you have it?
ReplyDeleteYour signs you find are always so funny.
That's a very pretty plant--looks like it should be underwater. The juice pack people sell funeral plots too? (It could be a potentially thirsty endeavor...so could copying...)
