Special Assembly Day

Spiritual Refreshment

Our Special Assembly Day was very encouraging. We got to see many of the people we met at the branch, as well as the friends in our own congregation. We also met others who've come to Guam as "need greaters" and those who are involved with translation on other islands.

Joe Salvato, a member of the branch committee, was our guest speaker. He's a very engaging speaker. We enjoyed his two talks very much.

Aaron did a very good job on his interview. Joe Flowers did the interview. He asked Aaron about our preparations for coming and how we're settling in. Aaron seemed very relaxed.

The stage was decorated by Louise, an interior designer that volunteers at the branch. She's originally from England and her husband is American. We're supposed to go diving with them some time soon.

Joe and Phyllis Flowers (shown here) are in our congregation. They are in their 70's and have moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Don't tell Joe, but he's one of my favorite people here. They're both a lot of fun.

This is Sony Zee. I think I've blogged about her before. She is part of the Chinese Group that meets with our congregation. She is married to a wealthy developer and lives in Tumon (A.K.A. Hotel Row). Sony loves to shop and really enjoys food! She has a great personality and I thoroughly enjoy hanging out with her. I work with her in the ministry at least once a week. She knows every Chinese person on Guam and isn't afraid to talk to anyone. She's been on Guam for 30 years.

In this other photo with Sony are Jennifer and her mom, Ruby and Fei (Faye)—all in our congregation.

Last (but most definitely not least) is our friend Fausta. Fausta is one of the most fun-loving people in our congregation. She's always ready with a smile and she loves to kid around. She has a bit of a sad tale to tell but you would never know it.
